Colorado State
University, also referred to as CSU, was established in
Fort Collins, Colorado in 1870. CSU began as a college of
agriculture when Colorado was still a United States
Territory. Colorado State has had several titles. CSU
started as the Colorado Agricultural College, but became
the Colorado State College of Agriculture and Mechanic
Arts. The school nickname then was Colorado A & M. It
became Colorado State University in 1957.
